In
addition to studying on the MSc part-time, Jenny works in Sheffield as
a freelance tutor in the community sector. Her background is in
community regeneration, managing computer projects, and activism. She
is interested in collaborating on projects around learning, community
and sustainable culture.
Jenny writes: In June 2006 I'm entering my second year of part-time
study on the MSc with an ISP on 'Indicators of sustainability,
inclusivity and progress for Sheffield' (aka 'Making Sheffield Happy'!)
I want to get some dialogue going between activists and the powers that
be about what real success would look like for our city. (Er, no,
perhaps not a wider M1 and a huge casino next to it...)
Further optional modules I'm planning to do are in Spiritual Activism, and Action Research.
I'm hoping that out of all this will emerge a wonderful dissertation
subject - if it's not one tangent too many, it might be around
'Mobility as Consumption' (and how we can wean ourselves off it...)
Other Interests: singing with Sheffield Socialist Choir, walking with Red Rope, co-counselling and being a Rebel Clown.
