People who missed out on CHE’s ecopsychology course (which is fully
booked and began earlier this month) can get a taster of what the
course is all about at a Wilderness Foundation event to be held in the
south of England in early June.
The eco-psychology tutors Dave Key and Mary-Jayne Rust are holding a
one-day workshop on 2nd June exploring how the experience of untamed
nature can have life enhancing results.
The venue and costs are still to be confirmed but it is likely the
course will be held close to London and cost in the region of £40 per
person for the day. Numbers will be limited to around 20 participants,
so book now!
The workshop will explore the transformative power of wild places by
sharing examples of the ways in which wilderness experiences have
changed people – and at what those changes have then led people to
achieve.
Some of the ingredients that come together to make a transformative
experience will be discussed. There will be a particular focus on
aspects of personal and social change, and at ways of working with
those experiences, either personally or as a leader.
Of fundamental importance is the power of wilderness to encourage
people to want to live sustainable lives – for the benefit of
wilderness itself, but, more importantly, to meet the imperative of
creating a sustainable future for all communities of life.
