The University of Strathclyde have awarded the honorary post of Visiting Professor of Human Ecology to CHE fellow Alastair McIntosh. Based in the Department of Geography and Sociology, Alastair will contribute to the department strategy of bringing academic teaching and research closer to communities and public debates.

Plans are now well under way for the next CHE organised event, a lecture on Patrick Geddes, after last month's highly successful seminar involving Glasgow based progressive groups.

Biology teacher and current Human Ecology Masters student, Ewen Hardie, is revitalised by the new environment he has found himself in at CHE.

Former Human Ecology student, Andy Wynne, who graduated in 2003, is now heading up Manchester's Progressive Enterprise Network and has been invited on the UK's Sustainable Development Panel.

In June CHE Fellow Dave Key will be holding a wilderness retreat based at a remote lighthouse on the west Highland coast.

CHE Fellow Jamie Whittle will be among the panelists at an Environmental Law Foundation Question Time to be held at Strathclyde University in Glasgow later this month.

Applications for the MSc in Human Ecology are at an all time high. "We already have 13 applications for 20 places and it’s only March,” explained Verene Nicolas, CHE fellow and course coordinator.
